Hankinson LLP Attorneys Ryan Clinton, Carl Cecere Named Among Top Young Lawyers in Texas

DALLAS, March 11, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The Dallas-based appellate law boutique Hankinson LLP is proud to announce that firm attorneys Ryan Clinton and Carl Cecere have earned selections to the 2013 Texas Rising Stars listing.

Additionally, Mr. Clinton is featured in a profile article appearing in the April issue of Texas Rising Stars magazine that focuses on his extensive experience in appellate law and how that work complements his personal mission of protecting animal welfare in Austin, Texas, and surrounding communities.

This is the ninth selection to the Texas Rising Stars list for Mr. Clinton and the first for Mr. Cecere. The full list of the top young attorneys in the state appears in the April editions of Texas Monthly and Texas Rising Stars magazines. To be eligible, an attorney must be younger than 40 or have practiced law for 10 years or less. No more than 2.5 percent of eligible Texas attorneys earn selection to the list each year.

Mr. Clinton is a former Texas Assistant Solicitor General who has successfully handled seven cases in the Texas Supreme Court as lead counsel and has presented more than 20 appellate oral arguments, four in the Texas Supreme Court alone. Over the last few years, Mr. Clinton has developed a niche practice handling appeals in groundbreaking oil-and-gas litigation including a gas-royalties dispute that will define Texas royalty obligations for generations to come. He has represented clients before the Texas Supreme Court, the Fifth Circuit, the majority of Texas intermediate appellate courts, and the U.S. Supreme Court. Board Certified in Civil Appellate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, he earned his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law.

Mr. Cecere has represented clients in appeals involving a variety of legal issues. He has represented clients before the U.S. Supreme Court and all levels of Texas state appellate courts, including the Supreme Court of Texas and Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. He also has appeared before the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Third, Fourth, Fifth and Tenth Circuits. He earned his law degree from Southern Methodist University's Dedman School of Law.
