HANRO Beverly Hills Commissions Blanda To Design A Mural: The Famed Contemporary Artist Turns Blank Walls Into A Masterpiece

Later this month, HANRO will transform its Beverly Hills store into a work of art with the installation of a one-of-a-kind mural by contemporary artist Blanda (@blahblahblanda)
Blanda shared her vision for the piece, "Inspired by shape, form and movement the mural strives to create a visual composition that harmoniously flows with the fabrics, colors and textures of the HANRO garments. The two-dimensional image works in perfect synergy with the room and is rendered three-dimensional by the architecture." She continued by highlighting the connection between the art and shoppers, "HANRO x BLANDA is inspired by the space it lives in and the individuals who are moving through that space. The trilogy of store, product and artwork is closely connected and each element is harmoniously elevated by the other two."
Similar to HANRO, Blanda was born in Switzerland but also lives in both New York and California. In 2007 Blanda moved to New York to enroll in the School of Visual Arts (SVA) where she received the Silas H. Rhodes scholarship. Her style, a mélange of collage, printmaking, drawing and painting, drew the attention of her professors and after graduating 2010, she was snapped up by The New York Times for a coveted Art Director position. On April 24th, HANRO will host a special event to unveil her latest masterpiece. Unique artwork will live amongst the timeless collection in the Santa Monica Boulevard storefront. Well-known artist collaborations are a continued tradition for HANRO. A supporter of the arts, the brand has previously commissioned two murals in the New York store. Blanda's work will be the first for the Beverly Hills location.
