New 'Chance' campaign, research partnerships and player health innovations continue to advance positive play across the gaming industry
HOLLYWOOD, Fla., Aug. 31, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Hard Rock International and Seminole Gaming are recognizing Responsible Gambling Education Month (RGEM) through the company's responsible gambling program, PlayersEdge, by highlighting new initiatives, research partnerships and education programs that continue to advance positive play and inform decision-making.
RGEM is an annual September campaign led by the American Gaming Association (AGA) to promote gambling literacy, evaluate team member training, and increase awareness of problem gambling resources. Using a segmented education strategy, PlayersEdge supports all player profiles from new and casual players to seasoned regulars. The program combines player education, team member training, research, and intervention resources to ensure guests practice healthy gambling habits, while supporting those at risk for problem gambling.
Responsible gambling education has been integrated into Hard Rock Casino and Seminole Gaming team member training since 2021 and continues to evolve through partnerships with researchers, healthcare professionals and industry organizations.
"Responsible gambling is about empowering players, team members and guests with knowledge, research and support so they can make informed choices that work for them," said Paul Pellizzari, Vice President of Global Social Responsibility for Hard Rock International and Seminole Gaming. "Through PlayersEdge, we continue to invest in innovative education, research and training initiatives that help advance positive play while strengthening our ability to support guests who may need assistance."
Hard Rock and Seminole Gaming's efforts continue to expand programming reach and impact:
- 'Chance' Campaign: Introduced across Hard Rock Casinos during RGEM, the new 'Chance' Campaign helps players better understand one of gambling's most fundamental concepts: chance itself. Built around the insight that many players believe outcomes can be predicted or influenced, the campaign reinforces a simple message: you can't control chance, but you can control how you play. - Almond Digital Health App Pilot: Hard Rock International piloted the Almond Digital Health App at Hard Rock Casino Cincinnati as a digital extension of the PlayersEdge program. The three-month pilot provided guests and players with access to a multilingual, anonymous platform designed to support healthier gambling behaviors and connect individuals with additional resources and support options. Building on the pilot's positive reception, Hard Rock is evaluating opportunities to continue the program in Cincinnati and exploring expansion access to additional Hard Rock Casinos.
- Leadership through Collaboration: Hard Rock and Seminole Gaming became a founding member of the Better Gambling Forum, a multisector coalition seeking coordinated, evidence-based global responses centered on brain health, mental resilience and cognitive capital. As an initiative of the Brain Capital Alliance, in collaboration with the G7, the United Nations and the World Economic Forum, the Forum's work focuses on creating a comprehensive framework to help all sectors involved in gambling.
- Research & Evidence-Based Practice: PlayersEdge continues to apply leading research into its program strategies. Working with Dr. Michael Wohl and his team at Carleton University, five Hard Rock and Seminole Gaming casinos will participate in research to better understand the experiences and perspectives of casino supervisors and managers who interact with players. The research, funded independently by the International Center for Responsible Gaming (ICRG), will provide insights into the organizational factors that may help or hinder the effective delivery of RG initiatives.
