Harris Corporation Selected to Replace National Park Service Microwave Communications Network Along Southern U.S. Parkway

Harris Corporation (NYSE: HRS), an international communications and information technology company, has been awarded a contract by the Department of the Interior to modernize a microwave communications system that spans the more than 400-mile Natchez Trace Parkway in the southern United States.  

Under the contract, Harris will provide a turnkey communications system, including all microwave radio components and associated services, such as managing the upgrade and repairing existing microwave towers and shelters.  The network will provide reliable data, VoIP and video connectivity for National Park Service personnel and law enforcement officers serving the tri-state parkway that spans Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee.
