Hasan Minhaj Named Recipient of the AAF's 2026 Cultural Force Award

Comedian, Writer, Actor, & Producer 186K Films Honored for Shaping Culture at the Intersection of Comedy, Media, and Marketing

WASHINGTON, Sept. 25, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Advertising Federation (AAF), "The Unifying Voice for Advertising", today announced that comedian, writer, and producer Hasan Minhaj will receive the 2026 Cultural Force Award, a special honor presented as part of the AAF's long standing Advertising Hall of Achievement (AHOA). While the AHOA recognizes advertising professionals age 40 and under, the Cultural Force Award — introduced in 2023 — honors a public figure outside the industry whose work has nonetheless shaped how brands advertise, market, and reach new audiences.

Minhaj joins the AHOA Class of 2026, alongside eight previously announced honorees who have found ways to make their impact on advertising. Previous Cultural Force Award recipients include former NBA All-Star Chris Paul in 2023; writer, producer, and actress Issa Rae in 2024; and supermodel Ashley Graham in 2025.

Today's announcement comes as Minhaj's Netflix feature film Best of the Best — produced by his company 186K Films and co-written by and starring Minhaj — premiered globally on September 18, 2026.

While Minhaj is known for his career as a stand-up comedian, writer, producer, political commentator, and actor, he has also become one of the advertising industry's most recognizable creative collaborators. Notably, Minhaj is the face of Adobe's multi-year Acrobat campaign, including starring as a marketing executive in Adobe's original branded comedy series The Marketers — playing, in effect, the very industry now honoring him.
