Scream season returns to Kansas City with several chilling adventures

THE BEAST | through Nov. 3

Holding two titles—America's largest haunted house and the creator of the open-format design to allow ghosts, goblins and other scary creatures to lunge out at you at any time—The Beast will make your hair stand on end. The four-story slide at the end will keep you screaming.

THE EDGE OF HELL | through Nov. 3

KC's oldest haunted house, The Edge of Hell, holds the Guinness World Record for the largest anaconda in captivity. Trudge past vampires through the quarter-mile route before sliding down a five-story spiral slide into the arms of the Devil himself.

HALLOWEEN HAUNT AT WORLDS OF FUN | through Oct. 27

Head to KC's thrilling theme park if you dare to experience nine horrifying haunts this Halloween season. Master McCarthy's Doll Factory takes you to a toy factory gone horribly wrong while Lore of the Vampire will have you running from blood-thirsty Dracula and his friends.

KC FEAR FARM | through Oct. 31

Promising to scare the "crop" out of you, KC's newest haunt, KC Fear Farm includes four extreme haunts—from the full-sensory experience of being buried alive to a haunted corn field. Be prepared to have nightmares.

GHOSTS & GANGSTERS TOUR | all year round

Jump on the ghoul bus and tour historic KC landmarks with legendary paranormal activity and infamous mafia mayhem. Stop by the Hotel Savoy, rumored to be haunted by Betsy Ward, a woman who died in room 505 and never moved out. Or search for the ghost of Father Henry David Jardine who supposedly roams the halls of St. Mary's Church.

HOWL-O-FEST AT WORLDS OF FUN | through Oct. 28

Let your little goblins run free through the seven not-so-scary attractions until 6 p.m. Kids will love hunting for prizes at Snoopy's Big Treasure Hunt and showing off their Halloween costumes at Captain Kitty's Costume Contest.

BOO AT THE ZOO | Oct. 27-28

What goes bump in the night? Boo at the Zoo of course, where kids trick-or-treat among more than 1,000 wild animals. This annual event also includes spooky animal shows.
