Hayneedle To Open West Coast Distribution Center

OMAHA, Neb. and RIVERSIDE, Calif., Nov. 15, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Hayneedle, the online destination to find everything home, today announced the leasing of 300,000 square feet of distribution and fulfillment space in Southern California, bringing the company's total to approximately 900,000 square feet. The new distribution center, located at 6860 Sycamore Canyon Blvd. in the community of Riverside, just east of Los Angeles, will open in the spring of 2013. 

The expansion to the West Coast marks Hayneedle's first regional distribution and fulfillment facility. From its current location in Monroe, Ohio, which opened in 2010 and recently expanded to approximately 600,000 square feet, Hayneedle delivers to 70% of its customers in two days via standard ground shipping. The company expects to increase that number to nearly 90% with the opening of the West Coast distribution center. In addition to providing fulfillment to customers in the western U.S., the facility in Riverside will also serve as a deconsolidation and cross-dock site for Hayneedle's imported and exclusive home and outdoor products.

The new facility will open in spring 2013 with a core team of approximately 20 associates; the number of employees is expected to double in the next few years. Positions will range from general warehouse associates to management positions in operations, human resources and industrial engineering. The company expects the majority of the hiring will begin in early 2013.
