HealthPlus Medicare Advantage HMO-POS Plan Top-Ranked in Michigan

FLINT, Mich., Oct. 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- HealthPlus of Michigan's Medicare HMO-POS (health maintenance organization – point of service) plan is the highest-ranked Medicare plan in the state (and No. 21 nationally) according to the National Committee for Quality Assurance's (NCQA) Health Insurance Plan Rankings 2011-12 – Medicare according to rankings released by NCQA last month. The same organization has awarded the HealthPlus Medicare HMO-POS plan "Excellent" accreditation status.

In addition, member satisfaction with HealthPlus' Medicare HMO-POS plan is rated 5 out of 5 stars in the printed Medicare & You Handbook that is mailed to all Medicare beneficiaries, and the plan received an overall rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars on the federal government's Medicare website, medicare.gov.

HealthPlus received these rankings as the company expands its Medicare Advantage service area from eight Michigan counties to 17 counties in 2012.
