Heather Wilson Joins the Abernathy MacGregor Group

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Abernathy MacGregor Group today announced that Heather Wilson has joined its Los Angeles office as an Executive Vice President. Her role is to provide the full range of financial and strategic communications counsel offered by Abernathy MacGregor to the firm's clients, and to help drive continued growth for the firm, particularly in Southern California and the West.

Wilson has 20 years of corporate and media experience, having advised clients on crises, litigation, media and social media strategy, and corporate transactions.  Her background includes deep crisis preparedness and management experience, with an additional specialty in managing digital media.

Wilson has served as senior corporate strategist for a number of major brands and multinational corporations in a variety of industries, including technology, consumer products/retail, financial services, energy/oil and gas, and pharmaceutical/biotech.

Prior to joining Abernathy MacGregor, Wilson was a senior executive at Weber Shandwick where she led crisis and issues management on the West Coast and out of its Chicago office. Wilson was previously a journalist for Dow Jones/Marketwatch and began her career on Capitol Hill.

Wilson received her undergraduate degree in political science from Southern Methodist University and has a Master's degree in journalism from the University of Southern California's Annenberg School of Communication and Journalism.
