Highly Anticipated Mobile Payments Innovation Summit Announced
BOCA RATON, Fla., March 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Strategic Solutions Network (SSN) announces the 4th Mobile Contactless Payment Innovations Summit on April 3-4, 2012 at The Westin San Francisco Market Street in San Francisco, California.
SSN's Mobile Contactless Payment Innovations summits have convened over 1200 executives since 2009. The April Summit showcases senior payments executives from retailers such as Wal-Mart, IPC/SUBWAY®, The Home Depot and TheFind and all four major US payment networks – Visa, American Express, Discover and MasterCard.
"Discover's outlook for emerging payments is to provide integrated, relevant and rewarding options, while balancing the needs of all stakeholders," said Farhan Ahmad, Discover's Global Head of Mobile and Prepaid and a featured presenter. "We believe payments should be seamless and effortless within their transaction environment, regardless of channel, verification process or transaction choice. Despite the ever-changing landscape, we are ready for emerging commerce – today and tomorrow, here and around the world."
Participants will also hear from financial institutions such as Bank of America, Capital One, TD Canada Trust, Royal Bank of Canada and Wells Fargo and experts from CHARGE Anywhere, The Electronic Transaction Association, Gemalto, i2c, Inc., Isis, MagTek, Oberthur Technologies, PayPal, Placecast, ROAM Data, Telepin Software, Transaction Network Services, TxVia, Vantiv, VeriFone Systems and ViVOtech.
One key theme addressed is leveraging big data and improving customer experience through the convergence of local deals, social and mobile; how members of the payments chain exploit this data will shape the evolution of the space. Tom Pawelkiewicz of Royal Bank of Canada, explained, "The introduction of smart phones to the payments ecosystem has enabled a new and exciting payment channel and also provided access to terabytes of information. With a new device, wallet or trial announced every other week, new revenue streams and increased consumer engagement are all possible, but the exact operating model remains unclear. It's important for all participants of the payments system to understand the role of data in the mobile payments space, the opportunities being created and the obligations and potential pitfalls associated with big data."
Attendees also discover how to better position their company in the new commerce ecosystem; evaluate the impact of multiple payment accounts in one mobile wallet; develop loyalty at the POS and post-sale; create a trusted environment for consumers to conduct mobile transactions; meet deadlines for EMV Chip acceptance; capitalize on opportunities created by the convergence of commerce and payment players; realize how mobile start-ups successfully obtain funding and effectively market to mobile customers.
