Hill & Knowlton Names Houston GM, Michael J. Moore

HOUSTON, March 24, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Hill & Knowlton announced today that Michael J. Moore is joining H&K as a senior vice president and Houston general manager.  He will report directly to Dan Bartlett, US president and CEO.  

Michael will be involved in client service, business development and operations for the Houston office.  

A Houston resident for more than 30 years, Michael has served as Mayor Bill White's chief of staff during his entire six year term from 2004 to 2009 and he ran Bill White's bid for Texas governor in 2010.  He also ran White's bid for mayor in 2003, and has participated in numerous political campaigns in the past, including President Bill Clinton's campaign in 1992.  Moore was a presidential appointee to the US Department of Energy.

Michael has in-depth expertise in crisis management and communications, including serving as Mayor White's primary point person during Hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Ike.  This experience complements the firm's current crisis communications practice.

Michael graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts in economics.
