Hill+Knowlton Strategies Appoints Josh Hendler Global Chief Technology Officer
WASHINGTON, Jan. 18, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Hill+Knowlton Strategies announced today that Josh Hendler has joined the D.C. team as Global Chief Technology Officer. Hendler started Monday, January 9 and reports directly to Andrew Bleeker, global director of the firm's digital practice.
With the firm's recent rebranding, H+K Strategies has focused on technology as it becomes an integral component of executing successful communications strategies. New technology offerings and added talent across geographies and practices are planned for the upcoming months. Hendler will be responsible for building and expanding H+K's technology offerings as part of the global digital practice and developing and managing the firm's technology product portfolio.
Hendler joins H+K from Jumo, a social platform that connects individuals and organizations working to change the world, where he served as Chief Technology Officer. Prior to Jumo, he was Director of Technology for the Democratic National Committee and Organizing for America, where he supervised the national party's technology efforts, software development, infrastructure and data warehouse.
"Josh has nearly a decade of experience working at the intersection of politics, non-profits and technology," said Bleeker. "Politics has been a major source of innovation in bringing new technology to bear in communications, and it will be to our advantage to have a leader with such a strong and diverse track record in both politics and technology."
"I'm excited about the potential of pairing innovative technology with H+K's vast communications and digital expertise," said Hendler. "There are tremendous opportunities to help our clients both from a product and digital practice perspective."
Hendler has held many roles in political and non-profit technology ventures, including Labour's 2005 election in Britain, Rock the Vote and Sen. John Kerry's 2004 Presidential campaign. He was a strategic consultant at ThoughtWorks and an early technology hire for MLB Advanced Media.
Hendler is a graduate of the Gallatin School at New York University.
