The Doing The Most Good Annual Dinner draws nearly 500 people each year to pay tribute to those in the Pittsburgh region who go above and beyond in their support of The Salvation Army. "This event is a wonderful opportunity for us to showcase its programs and services to key community leaders during a very important time of year, and it serves as a kick off to the holiday season," said The Salvation Army's General Secretary and Allegheny County Coordinator, Major Tom Lyle. At this year's event, The Salvation Army will be unveiling a new strategy that will be rolled out throughout the division in 2018, UnitedHealthcare Feeding Families For Life, an initiative to fight hunger the healthy way. Guests will be treated to Chef Jeff inspired appetizers during the reception, as the former host of Food Network's "Flip My Food" is well versed in making lighter versions of unhealthy dishes.
Peggy Finnegan, Noon and 5 pm Anchor of WPXI Channel 11 News, and half of the longest running news anchor team in Pittsburgh, will serve as the evening's emcee. Mike Harvey, Project Bundle Up Chairman and Chief Meteorologist for WTAE Channel 4 Action News will present the WTAE Project Bundle Up award.
