"At Univision we have seen the power of social media and how Hispanic America has embraced these platforms across Univision.com's 'Foros' and 'Mi Pagina' as well as on Facebook and Twitter," said Cesar Conde, president, Univision Networks. "Our goal is to empower the non-profit community by tapping into the tremendous opportunity of leveraging social media to achieve their goals."
Univision's social media presence as part of its comprehensive engagement strategy includes Univision Interactive Media's platforms on Univision.com 'Foros' (Forums) and 'Mi Pagina' (My Page) - as well as Twitter and Facebook pages. The dedicated Univision channel on YouTube features Network and Interactive programming, as well as public service announcements. On Twitter, Univision Network's signature programs such as "Premio Lo Nuestro" and "Premios Juventud" and related topics were trending the nights of the shows; with #premiolonuestro and "Premios Juventud" being the #1 trending topics worldwide the evening of their respective broadcasts. Additionally, Univision has created live interactive experiences with Facebook during live online streaming of events, most recently during the broadcast of its education town hall with President Obama, "Es el momento – El Presidente, Los Hispanos y la Educacion," and last year with the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ matches.
