H&K Equipment becomes newest authorized dealer for JLG Industries Inc.
CORAOPOLIS, Pa., Jan. 13, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- H&K Equipment of Pittsburgh announced today that it has become an officially licensed dealer for JLG Industries Inc. JLG, a subsidiary of Oshkosh Truck Corporation, manufactures the popular G12-55A telehandler, which H&K Equipment is now providing to service the construction, oil and natural gas industries in Pittsburgh and the tri-state area.

While H&K Equipment will be offering vehicles from the full JLG product line, Cicero said, his company is currently focusing on the JLG G12-55A, which is available now for rent or purchase.
"Telehandlers offer the lifting capabilities of a forklift with the reach of a crane," said H&K Operations Manager Patrick Koch. "Their capacity for off-road and rough terrain travel allows them to reach places other machines can't, and in a more cost-efficient manner."
The JLG G12-55A features a cutting-edge Tier 4 compliant 130 horsepower Cummins 4.5 liter diesel engine. It also provides 12,000 pounds of lift capacity and 55 feet of reach while reducing emissions and increasing fuel economy.
"The JLG G12-55A is the largest and most powerful telehandler in the JLG lineup," said Cicero. "It can handle the bigger jobs that the compact machines just don't have the muscle for."
Once primarily used in the residential and commercial construction industries, Cicero added, telehandlers have seen their usage explode in recent years.
"The telehandler market has seen a lot of growth in the oil and natural gas industry," explained Koch. "Because Western Pennsylvania is a central hub in the Marcellus Shale region we felt it was important that we have a product like the G12-55A to serve the industry here."
The addition of the entire JLG lineup of boom lifts, telehandlers and stock pickers, Koch noted, is a key component in the continued growth of H&K Equipment.
"The JLG product line bolsters our entire lineup of telehandlers and heavy equipment and allows us to target new markets. It's our goal to offer the widest and best selection of material handling products in order to better serve our customers. Becoming an authorized JLG dealer is a great next step towards that goal."
