Home Mortgage Alliance Corporation Adds National Trial Counsel, Robins Kaplan, to Its Legal Team in Its Suit Against OCMBC

SANTA ANA, Calif., Aug. 18, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Home Mortgage Alliance Corporation (HMAC) dba Jet Mortgage, announced today that Robins Kaplan, a national litigation firm with multiple offices throughout the country, is joining its legal team, partnering with SeldenLindeke LLP, in its suit against OCMBC, Inc. and former senior executive, Michael Turturro.

In June 2024, HMAC filed suit in Superior Court of the State of California in Orange County alleging that its former executive Michael Turturro and his new employer, engaged in unfair business practices, trademark infringement, fraud, misappropriation of trade secrets, breach of fiduciary duty, and civil conspiracy.

On May 15, 2025, the Court granted HMAC's motion for a preliminary injunction seeking to stop OCMBC and Turturro from using the infringing "Jet Advantage Mortgage" trade name. In granting the motion the court noted:

"…[t]he majority of factors support that the [OCMBC's and Turturro's] use of the trade name 'Jet Advantage Mortgage' which is nearly identical to the [HMAC's] trade name 'Jet Mortgage' where parties are direct competitors and are both located in Orange County, creates a substantial likelihood of confusion. Here, the evidence supports that Defendants intentionally registered a substantially similar trade name to market and sell their services as direct mortgage competitors. Therefore, Plaintiff establishes a likelihood of prevailing on its causes of action for trademark infringement and unfair competition."
