HomeSafe Alliance Services More than 1,400 Relocations, On Track for Full Phase-In of Modern and Digitized Military Move System

HOUSTON, Feb. 19, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- HomeSafe Alliance announced today it has completed more than 1,400 relocations in its transformational effort to modernize and digitize the moving experience for Department of Defense (DoD) service members, civilians and their families. HomeSafe Alliance is partnering with U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) to implement the Global Household Goods Contract (GHC), a new system that revolutionizes military moves with innovative technology and a single-point-of-contact approach. The GHC program creates government efficiency, provides the DoD with a common operating picture of the entire end-to-end moving process and raises relocation standards for service members.

In the spring of 2024, USTRANSCOM moved into the ramp phase of the GHC using a "conditions-based" approach to minimize the risk of disruptions to military families. HomeSafe Alliance began accepting developmental moves in April 2024, but did not receive significant move volume until January 2025. To date, HomeSafe Alliance has been assigned to perform more than 8,900 moves. HomeSafe is now receiving approximately 300 new move assignments daily.

During the current developmental phase of the new GHC program, HomeSafe Alliance has enacted many process improvements, including:

• Enhanced 24/7 customer care operations.
• Updated features of HomeSafe's IT platform HomeSafe Connect inspired by feedback from military families, USTRANSCOM and service providers.
• Reshaped onboarding and training program for HomeSafe's network of moving companies that perform packing, transportation, storage and delivery services.
• Increased hiring with 83 new employees in January alone, primarily on the customer care team. HomeSafe Alliance focuses hiring efforts on military spouses and veterans with firsthand knowledge of the Permanent Change of Station (PCS) process and a personal commitment to improving the experience.

HomeSafe Alliance has made substantial progress in bringing about the transformative GHC program despite a misinformation campaign led by legacy moving companies who want this new system to fail.

The DoD awarded the GHC to HomeSafe Alliance in 2021 after a years-long acquisition process. The GHC program faced several delays relating to updating government systems and then integrating the DoD's platform MilMove with HomeSafe Connect, a commercial-off-the-shelf solution provided by HomeSafe.
