The first Designer Pick event on August 25 is curated by Karl Lohnes. Karl is the Globe and Mail's Style columnist, Metro newspaper's national decor expert, former Style at Home Magazine Style Editor and Canada AM's Home & Decor authority. Focusing on autumn trends and must-haves for 2011, "My favourite time of year is fall," says Lohnes, "so my selection indicates which trends to follow and which ones to avoid, and how to integrate new styles into the home."
The next designer will be Montreal-born Manny Machado whose tastes are distinctly modern with a European zest and who will curate a "small spaces" event. The Designer Picks events will continue through each month showcasing the tastes of an elite and diverse selection of members within the design community. "We don't want to focus on one style, but rather a spectrum," says Pulver. "Variety is everything and this is what we will deliver to our members."
