Hooker & Holcombe Employees Give Back to Local Organizations

WEST HARTFORD, Conn., Nov. 14, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- In support of the firm's charitable initiatives and community outreach program, Hooker and Holcombe recently encouraged nearly 25% of its workforce to volunteer their time at two local non-profit organizations. 

The initiative was organized by the firm's internal 'KARE' Committee, the group of employees responsible for promoting morale through charitable opportunities and events.  This year, the organizations selected were Fidelco and Foodshare, both with locations in Bloomfield.  At Fidelco, H&H employees were responsible for cleaning, setting up table and chairs, and making signs in preparation for their 8th annual Ride for Independence event.  They also got to spend some time with the Fidelco puppies.  Foodshare put employees to work sorting and categorizing the large quantities of food donations that arrive at the center.  At the end of the day, they had moved roughly 4,000 pounds of food.  To coincide with the employee volunteer day, the firm also held a company-wide food drive. 

Hooker and Holcombe supports over 30 local non-profit groups annually through charitable support and employee volunteer programs.
