Hope for Ukraine Expands Humanitarian Deliveries to Frontline Areas Amid USAID Suspension

Increasing Firewood, Food, and Solar Power Resilience Kits to Support Vulnerable Communities

ROSELAND, N.J., Feb. 4, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- In response to the recent suspension of USAID assistance, Hope for Ukraine, a humanitarian organization committed to providing critical support to Ukrainian communities impacted by the ongoing conflict, announced today that it is significantly expanding its humanitarian aid efforts to frontline regions. Beginning on February 1, 2025, the organization has started to triple its weekly firewood deliveries, increase food kit distributions, and initiate its Solar Energy Resilience Program to provide sustainable power solutions to families enduring harsh winter conditions.

"Our main goal right now is to support frontline families even more than before to ensure they don't lose hope."

Hope for Ukraine is increasing its firewood distribution from 20 tons to 60 tons per week. This supply will help 120-140 families in frontline regions, including Kherson, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Sumy, and Dnipro, endure the freezing winter conditions. In the next two weeks, the organization will deliver the first 16 solar power energy resilience kits to families in frontline areas. These kits, part of Hope for Ukraine's Solar Energy Resilience Program, will reduce dependence on firewood by providing compact solar-powered generators and electric cooktops to help families prepare fresh meals.

Hope for Ukraine will also expand its food aid program, increasing its distribution from 1,500-1,600 families per week to reach even more people in need. This initiative ensures that displaced and war-affected families receive the sustenance they require during these difficult times.

"The volunteers and community members that we work with daily are risking their lives to keep Ukraine standing as an independent country, and we must do all we can to support them."

This pause has already led several humanitarian organizations to halt critical aid operations, severely impacting war veterans, internally displaced people, and vulnerable populations across the country.
