Hostess® Sweetens the Holiday Season With the Donettes® "Name the Penguins" Contest

IRVING, Texas, Nov. 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Hostess® is kicking off the 2011 holiday season with festive seasonal packaging and is inviting fans across the country to get creative with the Donettes® "Name the Penguins" contest for a chance to win a grand prize of $2,500 as well as free Donettes for a year.

From November 22, 2011 to December 11, 2011, Hostess is asking consumers to visit its Facebook page - which has recently surpassed 100,000 fans - and suggest names for the four adorable new penguins on the seasonal Donettes packaging.  A different penguin is featured on each of four Donettes varieties: Powdered, Frosted, new Frosted Devil's Food and limited-edition holiday Gingerbread Spice.  Once all the submissions have been gathered, Hostess will announce five finalists. Then, from December 17th to December 31st, consumers will have the opportunity to vote on Facebook for their favorite names from that group of finalists. Once the votes are tallied, the grand prize winner will receive a $2,500 cash gift card to help brighten the holiday season.  Plus, the winner and the other four finalists will all receive free Donettes for a year.

Along with the penguins on the seasonal packages of Donettes, Hostess multi-pack Chocolate CupCakes and Twinkies® will also be dressed up for the holidays. Hostess mascots Curly and Twinkie the Kid will be featured on the packaging, all bundled up for winter.
