Hostway's 'Elf Gift' Holiday Video Pokes Fun at Corporate Gift-Giving

CHICAGO, Dec. 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Do your company's customers really need another bag of pistachios or tin of gourmet popcorn for the holidays? Cloud and managed hosting provider Hostway Corporation thinks its gift budget is better spent to help the victims of Hurricane Sandy, and it's explaining why in a tongue-in-cheek holiday video starring a mean-spirited Christmas elf.

In the video (http://www.hostway.com/holiday/2012), the elf scampers through an office distributing bogus gifts such as lint rollers, ketchup packets, used loofas and a half-eaten pizza – in some cases hitting recipients in the face with the 'presents' or plunking them into cups filled with coffee.  The incredulous workers quickly regift the items to a donation box.  

The video concludes with an announcement that Hostway will "do something better this year" by donating to the Red Cross' Hurricane Sandy Relief fund (http://www.redcross.org/hurricane-sandy) on behalf of its customers and partners, and urging other businesses to follow suit.
