Houston Dash forward Kealia Ohai and BBVA Compass aim to create opportunities in new brand ambassador agreement

HOUSTON, May 10, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- BBVA Compass and Kealia Ohai came to terms on a new deal last week to officially appoint the Houston Dash forward as the bank's newest brand ambassador.

As a brand ambassador, Ohai will represent BBVA Compass in advertisements, community involvement activities and speaking engagements, including events during the bank's "Year of Opportunity for Small Business" initiative. The announcement also comes on the heels of BBVA Compass Stadium's five-year anniversary, commemorating the bank's involvement with the Dynamo, Dash and East End community.

Ohai's lengthy resume on the pitch includes being selected by the Dash with the No. 2 overall selection in the 2014 NWSL College Draft, and holding the distinction of fastest debut goal for the U.S. women's national team, scoring 48 seconds after entering as a substitute against Switzerland in October. Her background in volunteerism with multiple organizations in her home state of Utah bolsters a BBVA Compass brand ambassador roster already known for its commitment to creating opportunities for everyone's bright futures.
"Kealia's philanthropic spirit and athletic achievements also makes her an amazing role model for young female athletes who want to compete on the highest level," said Dominiquini. Since its partnership with the Dynamo and Dash, the bank has donated over $250,000 to the Dynamo Charities' Building a Better Houston initiative and more than 890 volunteer hours to the Building a Better Mind campaign – programs that include renovations for family homes in the East End neighborhood where BBVA Compass Stadium resides and providing reading and financial literacy lessons at The Rusk Elementary School. The stadium's five-year anniversary celebration is set to take place during the Dynamo's home game on May 12.
