LINCOLN, Neb., June 16, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- HTI Plastics is proud to announce the addition of Mark Smirz as the newest Sales Manager. Mark brings with him a wealth of knowledge in sales and the manufacturing industry.
In 1990, after serving four years in the United States Navy and while attending Kishwaukee College, Mark Smirz started his career in thermoplastics. Mark started as a CAD designer initially, developing packing concepts for custom thermoform packaging with what is now known as Sonoco Alloyd. While working on the engineering side of the business he also designed production molds, approved first article runs, and finally led an engineering team as Project Manager before transitioning to a sales role in 1997. While working in sales he operated in several different markets including, Tampa, FL, Kansas City, KS, and DeKalb, IL where he last led the Midwest Regional Sales Team for Sonoco Alloyd through 2007.
Smirz has also worked in the folding carton industry and for a boutique packaging design agency. Most recently he worked for an IT firm helping manufacturers and other businesses get the most from their technology investments. He is excited to be back in the manufacturing industry and working for HTI Plastics.
