"We were overwhelmed by the antique and jewelry communities' excitement as we entered into the Chicago market," said Andrea Canady, Fair Director. "It's evident by the attendance numbers that this show was successful for its first appearance in the windy city. We are looking forward to returning next year."
The Celebrity Collection, sponsored by N. Green & Sons, at the show included previously owned pieces by celebrities Mae West, Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe and more. This area was popular and enjoyed heavy traffic throughout the show. Collectors with an interest in coveted antique and estate jewelry scanned the aisles for items ranging from diamonds, precious gems from famous brands such as Tiffany & Co., Harry Winston, Patek Phillipee, Cartier, Rolex and David Webb. First time exhibitors and visitors were amazed by the outstanding displays of antique, estate and vintage pieces throughout the showroom floor.
"The first annual Chicago Antique Jewelry & Watch Show was better than we could have ever anticipated," said Lee Josephson, Vice President of Raymond Lee Jewelers. "It was a great way for us to reach a whole new market of affluent retail clients. Our company was able to connect with a network of Chicago-based dealers. We are excited for the future growth of the Chicago Antique Jewelry & Watch Show."
More than five thousand dollars was raised during this year's charity raffle, which benefited the Chicago Jewelers Association Scholarship Fund. The grand prize, a Rolex Submariner watch, was awarded to a local New York resident, John Ullmann. The next show on the calendar for US Antique Shows is the Las Vegas Antique Jewelry & Watch Show. This show is scheduled for May 31 - June 3, 2012 at the Paris Hotel.
Next year, the Chicago Antique Jewelry & Watch Show will be held April 12 - 14, 2013 at a new location, the Hilton Chicago. For more information, visit www.AntiqueJewelryChicago.com.
