SALT LAKE CITY, Nov. 16, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Huntsman Family Investments and its affiliates ("HFI") announced today that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire American Pacific Corporation Specialty Chemicals (the "Company" or "American Pacific") from H.I.G. Capital.
Founded in 1955, American Pacific primarily supplies rocket-grade ammonium perchlorate used in solid propellant rockets, booster motors and missiles that are utilized by the U.S. Department of Defense ("DoD") and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration ("NASA"). The Company supports various programs including the Army's Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System ("GMLRS") program, the Delta and Atlas commercial space launch vehicles and the Space Launch System ("SLS"), which is NASA's new space exploration vehicle. The Company is located in Cedar City, Utah with corporate offices in Las Vegas, Nevada.
