Hystax Acura Migrates Workloads to KVM and OpenStack in Real Time
Hystax offers VMware, Bare Metal and Public Clouds users simple and fully controlled way to migrate their workloads to OpenStack and KVM
AMSTERDAM, Dec. 5, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Hystax, a provider of cloud migration and disaster recovery software and services, has announced public availability of Hystax Acura Migration solution. With Hystax Acura, medium-sized and enterprise customers get a simple and predictable way of lifting and shifting their workloads to a new platform.
Hystax Acura enables customers to build a hybrid cloud infrastructure by splitting workloads between multiple platforms or fully migrate business applications to KVM or OpenStack. Customers get full control of the process before making a decision to switch to a new cloud.
Replication happens in the background without any downtime or impact on production, even for heavily loaded components. Consistent snapshots, generated from customers' business applications, are sent to a target site where they are stored, ready for spinning up test migrations.
The distinguishing feature of the Hystax Acura solution is its ability of spinning up test migrations on a KVM or OpenStack cloud in an isolated environment without stopping or impacting production workloads. Customers can configure and test the migration to verify the result before making a final decision to switch to a new site.
Hystax Acura doesn't require any offline disk preparations or V2V process, hypervisor change happens "on the fly" and doesn't result in long downtimes or data loss. Recent deltas are automatically synchronised from production and are available in running environment on KVM and OpenStack.
Sources of migration are not limited to VMware; Hystax Acura can migrate from Bare Metal, Hyper-V, public clouds and older versions of OpenStack as well. Hyper-V, VMware and LXD can be used on a target site in addition to KVM and OpenStack.
