PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 16, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Hyundai Motor America is supporting Children's Hospital of Philadelphia's (CHOP) Car Seat Safety for Kids program by hosting its fourth child safety seat check at Middleman Family Pavilion on CHOP's King of Prussia Campus. The event offers education and resources to families to help keep children safe on the road.
Since 2022, Hyundai's support has helped provide over 1,600 new car seats and booster seats to families in need and complete over 2,000 safety seat checks that help keep children safe on the road. This collaboration is part of Hyundai's corporate social responsibility initiative, Hyundai Hope, that promotes community safety.
"At Hyundai, we are committed to developing and delivering safe products, but even more, we care about encouraging safe practices when it comes to buckling up our little ones," said Cole Stutz, chief safety officer, Hyundai Motor North America. "Our collaboration with CHOP helps spread awareness of the correct use of child safety seats, which ultimately empowers parents and caregivers to ensure children are protected when driving."
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), almost half of child safety seats are installed or used incorrectly, which can often result in injury or even fatality. Research shows that using safety seats properly can reduce the risk of fatal injury by 71 percent for infants and 54 percent for toddlers.
During the event, certified child passenger safety technicians met with families and educated them on the proper installation and use of safety seats. They also inspected seats for expiration dates, manufacturer recalls, and proper fit for the child. Some families were also given replacement seats if needed.
"Every dollar received from Hyundai Motor America helps protect a child," said Gina Duchossois, Injury Prevention Manager at CHOP. "Their support makes it possible to provide car seats to families who otherwise couldn't afford them."
