Hyundai and Nicklaus Children's Hospital Continue Strengthening Child Passenger Safety in South Florida

• Hyundai donates $25,000 to Car Seat Safety Program at Nicklaus Children's Hospital
• Last year, this collaboration provided nearly 120 free car seat safety checks and over 100 car seats for families in need

MIAMI, March 18, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Hyundai Motor America recently donated $25,000 to Nicklaus Children's Hospital to support its Car Seat Safety Program. This ongoing collaboration is part of the corporate social responsibility initiative, Hyundai Hope, which seeks to improve community well-being through health and safety. With this donation, Nicklaus Children's Hospital will expand access to child passenger safety education and provide more free onsite car seat safety checks and installations.

Research from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) shows that correctly using car seats is the most effective way to reduce injuries and save lives in crashes. However, many parents face challenges accessing appropriate car seats and may unknowingly rely on expired or recalled ones. Car seat safety programs, like the one at Nicklaus Children's Hospital, play a crucial role in raising awareness and equipping parents with the necessary education and resources. As safety standards evolve, these programs help families stay informed and confident in protecting their children on the road.

Nicklaus Children's Hospital is the lead organization for the Miami-Dade County SAFE KIDS Coalition, offering programs that prevent childhood injuries in the community. The hospital's robust Car Seat Safety Program offers free onsite car seat checks and installations, helping families ensure they are using the appropriate car seats according to their child's age and weight and installing the device correctly. The hospital also accommodates children with special needs by providing specialized car seats. The program installs and checks approximately 225 car seats per year and provides education on topics of child passenger safety, including vehicular heatstroke and rollover prevention, to over 500 caregivers and children. Since partnering with Hyundai Hope in 2024, Nicklaus Children's Hospital has expanded its reach through community events and provided more than 100 additional car seat checks a year.
