The challenge began with a 400,000-mile goal and a $1 million donation commitment from Hyundai to Hyundai Hope on Wheels. Participants reached the goal in the first 24 hours, prompting Hyundai to double the mileage goal to 800,000 miles and its donation commitment to $2 million. The community surpassed the new goal two days later. In recognition of the challenge's record-setting achievement, Hyundai is contributing an additional $1 million, bringing its total donation through the challenge to $3 million.
With a child diagnosed with cancer every 36 minutes in the United States, the challenge turned the spirit of The Mark of a Warrior, developed in collaboration with Hyundai's agency of record, INNOCEAN USA, into an opportunity for people to take action together. Each mile helped raise awareness and support Hyundai Hope on Wheels' work to help fund groundbreaking research, advance new treatments and bring hope to children and families affected by cancer.
Influencers and athletes, Strava motivators and artists, Hyundai ambassadors, and participants sharing their achievements helped spread the movement across social media and beyond, ultimately reaching nearly 2.6 million people across social media and the Strava app.
"Nearly 20 million miles is an extraordinary show of support for children and families facing childhood cancer," said Sean Gilpin, chief marketing officer, Hyundai Motor America. "The Miles for the Warriors Challenge brought people together around the strength of young warriors and a cause that affects children around the world. We're grateful to everyone who participated and proud to contribute $3 million through the challenge to support Hyundai Hope on Wheels and its work to advance pediatric cancer research."

"We're proud to see the Strava community show up in such a big way and proud to partner with Hyundai Hope on Wheels to support children and families fighting cancer."
While the Strava challenge has concluded, people can continue to support the fight by posting or commenting on @HyundaiUSA social media posts using #HyundaiWarriors. About The Mark of a Warrior
The Mark of a Warrior is Hyundai Motor America's national campaign supporting Hyundai Hope on Wheels and the fight against childhood cancer. The campaign reimagines the nonprofit's iconic handprint as a symbol of the courage, resilience and determination of children facing cancer. Through storytelling, partnerships and community activations, it honors young warriors and invites people across the country to join the fight.
The campaign launched with "Little Warrior," a cinematic 60-second film airing nationally across broadcast, streaming, digital and social channels through the fall. In collaboration with Brave Gowns, Hyundai is providing more than 6,000 Warrior Gowns with armor-inspired designs to children undergoing cancer treatment. Warrior Rallies at select professional football games, soccer matches and other live events bring patients, survivors, health care professionals, dealers and local communities together to celebrate young warriors and raise awareness.
The campaign is also coming to life through approximately 42 handprint ceremonies and check presentations, Warrior Gown deliveries and more than 100 community blood drives across the country.
