Hyundai Motor America Announces A Donation Of $300,000 To Disaster Relief As A Result Of Hurricanes Harvey And Irma
The American Red Cross is being provided this donation to support urgent disaster relief efforts to assist with storm recovery in the states of Texas and Florida
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., Sept. 25, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Hyundai Motor America announces a $300,000 donation to the American Red Cross in the wake of the devastation in the states of Texas and Florida, caused by Hurricane Harvey and Irma. This is in addition to a $200,000 donation, which was previously announced for 5 children's hospitals, to benefit victims of the storm in Texas. The donation was announced with Members of Congress from Texas and Florida at Hyundai's national press conference in Washington, D.C. for pediatric cancer awareness month on September 14th. A ceremonial check was presented at the Rayburn House Office Building in Washington, D.C. to Ms. Linda Mathes, National Capital Region CEO on behalf of The American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.

The American Red Cross has launched a massive response program to aid the thousands of storm victims in Texas and Louisiana, along the Southeast and in the Caribbean. This includes mobilizing thousands of trained Red Cross disaster relief workers, deploying truckloads of relief supplies, and providing meals and shelters. The aftermath of the storms has left millions without power and countless others with damage to homes and property, many beyond habitation.
