Hyundai Of Brenham Dealership Earns LEED Certification

BRENHAM, Texas, Sept. 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Hyundai of Brenham, located in Brenham, Texas, was recently awarded LEED certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. Council members were impressed with the building's innovative use of recycled building materials, on-site waste and water-management, utilization of alternate-fuel vehicles and renewable energy, and general sustainability plan. Hyundai of Brenham opened the doors to their new facility in June 2011, with certification achieved in July of 2013. This is the first Hyundai dealership in the U.S. to receive this recognition.

LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), developed by the U.S. Green Building Council, is a program that provides third-party verification of green buildings. LEED is focused on sustainability and the impact buildings have on their environment as well as the people who use them every day. Through its various rating systems, the program addresses the entire building lifecycle, including design, construction, operation and maintenance, and recognizes best-in-class building strategies.
