CLEVELAND, Dec. 22, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Are you sure your environmental claims won't spell trouble for your company? The Cleveland Chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) and Barbara Brown, principal and co-owner of BrownFlynn, will provide an in-depth look at what communications professionals should know about environmental marketing and the new Federal Trade Commission Green Guidelines during the association's January breakfast event.
Brown will inform attendees about changes to the FTC's green guidelines, which establish general principles that apply to all sales and promotional activities and provide direction on particular environmental marketing claims. The revised guidelines are important to marketing and communications professionals as they advise them about the pitfalls of using terms such as "environmentally friendly" or "eco-friendly."
The program, titled, "Environmentally Speaking," is open to both members and non-members. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, January 11 at Trinity Commons from 8 – 9:30 am.
BrownFlynn is a corporate responsibility and sustainability consulting firm. BrownFlynn will give a one hour free sustainability and corporate responsibility consultation to a selected member in attendance at the January event.
Separate costs are available for members, non-members, students and IABC members who are currently in transition between professional employment opportunities.
The Trinity Commons parking lot entrance is on Prospect Avenue at East 22nd Street. Parking is free.
