
CHICAGO, May 19, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- ICAP Patent Brokerage, the intellectual property brokerage division of ICAP plc, and the AutoHarvest Foundation have joined together to offer intellectual property brokerage services to the automotive manufacturing and supply communities to accelerate the flow of advanced manufacturing, product development and business processes intellectual property ("IP") into the commercial marketplace. In the coming months, this collaboration will offer an online IP transaction platform for automakers, suppliers, research labs, and grass roots inventors.

Users of the platform will communicate in open forums and private collaboration rooms to discuss potential IP deals. Inventory of IP for sale and other advanced technologies available will be listed in detail on the autoharvest.org website.
In addition to jointly building the patent brokering platform with AutoHarvest, ICAP Patent Brokerage will offer transaction closing services, standardized documents, as well as its core transaction platforms to buyers and sellers. AutoHarvest Foundation has been working with industry leaders to create a secure virtual marketplace to accelerate innovation for the transportation and advanced manufacturing ecosystems. A percentage of sales commissions from this partnership will be donated to Midwest universities to foster engineering and manufacturing innovation.
