First patient enrolled and treated at West Cancer Center in Tennessee, USA
CAESAREA, Israel, Oct. 27, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- IceCure Medical Ltd. (NASDAQ: ICCM) ("IceCure," "IceCure Medical" or the "Company"), a developer of minimally-invasive cryoablation technology that destroys tumors by freezing as an option to surgical tumor removal, today announced it has successfully completed the treatment of the first patient in its post-marketing study (the "ChoICE Study") evaluating ProSense® cryoablation for the local treatment of low-risk breast cancer.
The first patient in the ChoICE Study was treated at West Cancer Center & Research Institute in Germantown, Tennessee ("West Cancer Center") by Dr. Richard E. Fine, MD, FACS, a board-certified breast oncology surgeon and Director of the Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship Program. "Treating the first patient marks an exciting milestone for the ChoICE Study, which we expect to generate additional clinical data supporting cryoablation and help pave the way for its broader clinical adoption among appropriately selected breast cancer patients," said Dr. Fine.
"We believe initiating treatment in the ChoICE Study is a key step in executing our U.S. post-market strategy for ProSense®. West Cancer Center is an ideal partner to lead this effort, and as we expand our network of study sites, we expect each one to strengthen our commercial footprint and broaden access to ProSense® for eligible patients," said Eyal Shamir, Chief Executive Officer of IceCure Medical.
The ChoICE Study is designed to enroll approximately 400 patients across up to 30 U.S. clinical sites and generate real-world data on ProSense® in its U.S. Food and Drug Administration ("FDA") cleared indication. Participating sites are expected to serve both as study centers and active commercial sites, enabling them to offer ProSense® cryoablation to eligible patients who are not participating in the ChoICE Study.
