ICL IP Resumes Production of Polymeric Flame Retardant (FR-122P) at Israel Plant; Closes HBCD Production Line

ICL (NYSE & TASE: ICL), a global manufacturer of products based on specialty minerals that fulfill essential needs of the world's growing population in the agriculture, food and engineered materials markets, today announced that its ICL Industrial Products segment ("ICL IP") has resumed commercial production of its FR-122P polymeric flame retardant following the end of a labor strike at its 10,000 MT/year plant in Israel. ICL IP also produces FR-122P at a 2,400 MT/year plant in the Netherlands.

ICL IP also announced today that it is ceasing production and phasing out sales of its HBCD product, FR-1206, excluding sales based on existing commitments to customers, and in line with the phase out dates of REACH and POP legislation.

The transition from HBCD to FR-122P is in line with the recommendation of a new SAFR™ (Systematic Assessment of Flame Retardants) assessment tool that was launched by the company in May and which was used to evaluate the sustainability profile of FR-122P. ICL IP is also transitioning to the new product as a result of broad positive feedback from its customers of FR-122P's suitability for use in the XPS/EPS (extruded polystyrene/expanded polystyrene) foam value chain.

ICL IP's Bromine Compounds business unit produces FR-122P under a license from Dow Global Technologies LLC.

ICL IP remains committed to the flame retardant business and is working with its customers to ensure an orderly transition from HBCD to its FR-122P offering for XPS/EPS applications.
