If You Purchased Certain Dr. Squatch Products from November 1, 2018 Through August 29, 2026, You Could Be Eligible for Payment from a Class Action Settlement

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 31, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The following notice is being issued by the Court approved Claims Administrator and has been authorized by the Superior Court of the State of California, in Guzman et al. v. Dr. Squatch, LLC, Case No.: 25STCV03523 ("Lawsuit").

Subject to Court approval, a Settlement has been reached in the class action Lawsuit Victor Guzman, Perry Bruno, Lauren Fleming, David Plowden, Karen Betzag, and Jaime Napolitano, individually, and on behalf of all others similarly situated, v. Dr. Squatch, LLC, Case No.: 25STCV03523. In the Lawsuit, the Plaintiffs allege that Dr. Squatch LLC ("Defendant") represented that certain of its shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, soap and other products (the "Products", a complete list of which is provided in the Settlement Website, available at www.PersonalCareProductsSettlement.com) were natural even though the Products contained certain ingredients Plaintiffs allege were synthetic. Dr. Squatch has at all times denied, and continues to deny, the allegations and that it has engaged in any wrongdoing. Specifically, Dr. Squatch maintains that the Class Products were properly labeled as natural. The Parties have agreed to settle the Lawsuit, without any finding of wrongdoing or admission of liability by Dr. Squatch, as a compromise to avoid the burden, expense and uncertainty of further litigation. The Settlement will create a fund of $9,000,000, including attorneys' fees not to exceed one third of the Settlement Amount to be paid to Class Counsel ($3,000,000), as well as a separate payment for attorney costs and expenses (up to a maximum of $50,000); notice and administration costs (estimated to be $475,000); and an incentive award to the named Plaintiffs, not to exceed $40,000 total.

Am I a Settlement Class Member? You are a Settlement Class Member if you purchased a Product from November 1, 2018 Through August 29, 2026.   

How do I get a payment? If you are a valid Settlement Class Member and wish to receive your portion of the settlement fund, you need to complete and submit a Claim Form online at www.PersonalCareProductsSettlement.com ("Settlement Website") or submitting via U.S. Mail to the address listed below no later than November 27, 2026. After the Settlement's Effective Date and the Court's final approval of the Settlement, you will then receive a payment for an amount that shall be calculated pro rata based on the number of Valid Claim forms that are submitted by the Settlement Class. You will receive your share of the Settlement via check in the mail or through electronic payment.

What are my rights? If you do not want to be legally bound by the Settlement, you must exclude yourself from the Settlement Class by submitting an Opt-Out Form available on the Settlement Website. The deadline to exclude yourself is October 13, 2026. If you exclude yourself from the Settlement Class, you will not receive any money from the Settlement. If you do not exclude yourself, you will release any claims against Defendant with regard to Defendant's alleged advertisement and packaging practices relating to the Class Products and will not be able to sue Defendant for any claim relating to those matters. If you do not exclude yourself and remain in the Settlement Class, you may object to the Settlement by October 13, 2026. The Court will hold a hearing on March 2, 2027 at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time to consider whether to approve the Settlement and Plaintiffs' request for attorneys' fees and expenses. You may appear and speak at the hearing, but you are not required to. You may also hire an attorney at your own expense to appear or speak for you at the hearing.
