IG Markets Announces Promotion of New Chief Executive Officer

CHICAGO, Nov. 2, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- IG Markets, a leader in the dealings of financial derivatives and margined forex trading, today announced the promotion of Dan Cook to Chief Executive Officer of IG Markets Inc., effective immediately. Cook has been with IG Markets Inc. for 2 years, previously serving as Senior Market Analyst.

While at IG Markets, Dan has focused on the fundamental and technical side of the currency, futures and equity markets. In an effort to help his clients understand the current events that are driving the markets so that they can better plan their trading activity, Dan provides daily market commentary as well as posting forward-looking analysis based on a combination of technical and fundamental indicators.

In 1998 Dan began trading for himself in the equities markets. Trading through the bull market of the 90's and through the bursting of the technology bubble in the early 2000's, has given him a firm understanding of trading during diverse market conditions. It was also during this time that Dan developed his passion for Technical Analysis. As an active member in the Market Technician's Association, Dan continues to hone his skills in the field of technical analysis.

In 2006 Dan moved full-time into the currency markets as a trading coach.
