IMA's Jeff Thomson and Curtis Verschoor Named 'Top Thought Leaders in Trust'
IMA's 2016 Annual Report emphasizes the role of trust and 'deeply rooted values' in once again achieving record growth
MONTVALE, N.J., Feb. 1, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- For the sixth consecutive year, Jeff Thomson, CMA, CAE, president and CEO of IMA® (Institute of Management Accountants), and Curtis Verschoor, CMA, CPA, chair emeritus of IMA's Committee on Ethics, have been named as 2017 Top Thought Leaders in Trust, an award issued by Trust Across America-Trust Around the World (TAA-TAW).

In his role as chair emeritus of IMA's Committee on Ethics, Verschoor has contributed his expertise on ethics, trust and sustainability to the development of IMA's Statement of Ethical Professional Practice, which serves as a guideline for appropriate business conduct for IMA members.

IMA's 2016 Annual Report, released today, emphasizes how trust and deeply rooted values have played in the organization's success this fiscal year. Through its commitment to ethics, innovation, and integrity, the organization now serves more than 80,000 global members and 16,000 student members. Additionally, IMA's CMA® (Certified Management Accountant), the leading global management accounting certification, reached a major milestone this year. "In fiscal 2016, we minted the 50,000th CMA," Thomson writes in the letter from the CEO. "That's 50,000 management accountants who have embraced the credential's rigor, relevance, integrity, and trust."
The report also highlights other major achievements of the organization, including the opening of its newest office in Singapore, a 9 percent growth in new CMAs and the allocation of more the $30,000 in academic scholarships.
