IMD Business School has won a coveted Brandon Hall Group Gold award for excellence in the Best Use of Blended Learning category for the submission entry 'Hilti & IMD: An Outperforming partnership to accelerate professional development.'

In 2016, construction supplier Hilti commissioned IMD to create a business education section of its 2-year rotational graduate trainee 'Outperformer program', which it runs to turn high-potential executives into the company's future leaders. The challenge was providing the best and most impactful learning experience but also allowing participants to continue to perform at their jobs all over the world.

IMD responded by blending carefully selected segments of its suite of highly-personalized and interactive online-based programs, what it calls Online Programs for Executives, with on-campus learning to create a curriculum that was tailored to Hilti's development needs. One of the key elements of IMD's Online Program for Executives is that participants have coaches following them and providing individualized feedback. There is also ample opportunity for group and pair work with other participants.
