Immokalee Farm in Hendry and Collier counties set for Sept. 17 auction
FORT MYERS, Fla., July 30, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- A turnkey 1,151-acre farm that stretches across the county line between Hendry and Collier counties just outside of Immokalee, Florida, will be offered at auction Thursday, Sept. 17, followed by a separate auction of farming equipment on Friday, Sept. 18. Murray Wise Associates LLC will conduct the auction in cooperation with Crosby & Associates, Inc., and Weeks Auction Co., Inc.
The farm will sell in seven tracts, with the farmland tracts ranging from 78 to 307 acres. The equipment sale includes numerous tractors, sprayers, irrigation pumps, motors and other well maintained farm machinery. The auctions are part of Chapter 11 proceedings for Grainger Farms, Inc., Grainger Land, LLC, and SamAnn Farms, LLC.
"This is very productive land, with about 901 acres planted – 753 acres in vegetable crops and 148 acres planted in citrus. It has been operated for years as a complete operation, but by selling in tracts, we will enable growers and investors alike to bid on just the land that fits their business and needs, so we could have one buyer for the entire farm or it could go to as many as seven buyers," said Nofziger. "We'll take bids on any combination of tracts or the entirety, and the land will sell in the combination that brings the highest total price."
The three tracts on the western (Collier County) side are 70 percent plantable, with a 7.5-acre storage yard and equipment shed. The Hendry County land consists of four tracts that are 90 percent plantable, and includes a 5 acre radio tower location that generates significant annual cash flow. The land auction will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17 at the LaBelle Civic Center, 481 W State Road 80, LaBelle, Florida. Auction staff will be available at the property from 10 a.m. to noon on August 12, August 25, and September 10 to provide detailed information and accommodate inspections of the land.
