Focused on providing the underlying compliance frameworks, infrastructure and sponsorship for Canada's financial technology innovators, Peoples Group is moving deliberately to address the unique risk profile of instant payments. When the RTR launches in Q4 of 2026, transactions will clear and settle around the clock in a matter of seconds. This shift to an "always-on" environment eliminates the traditional settlement delays that financial institutions historically relied upon to intercept unauthorized transfers and sophisticated scams. By integrating Feedzai's RiskOps suite across its platform, Peoples Group is ensuring that its partners can process real-time transactions reliably with increased protection to fraud and scams.

By integrating Feedzai's AI and machine learning tools, which monitor billions of global financial events annually, Peoples Group aims to mitigate these concerns by providing immediate, data-driven protection at the point of transaction.
The operational rollout will proceed in distinct phases, focusing initially on real-time transaction fraud monitoring and alert management to ensure RTR compliance before expanding to integrate more payment types and broader financial crime capabilities tailored specifically to the shifting compliance mandates of the Canadian retail payments market. This includes Feedzai IQ Score, an AI-native federated learning fraud network scoring solution announced in June.
