In Honor Of Daylight Saving Time, TOURNEAU Offers Complimentary Watch Re-Set And Polishing Cloth

NEW YORK, March 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- TOURNEAU, the world's largest retailer of fine timepieces, will begin the arduous task of advancing time forward with its massive inventory of watches in accordance with Daylight Saving Time for Sunday, March 10^th at 2:00 am.  Spread over 35 stores nationwide, over 1,000 TOURNEAU watch professionals will begin the tedious process of changing thousands of timepieces from the 100 brands the stores carry on March 9, 2013.

To celebrate the semi-annual time change, TOURNEAU will be launching a special program across all its channels, inviting watch owners and fans to visit the stores for a complimentary time set and polishing cloth. Daylight Saving Time often brings customers in whose valuable timepieces require a skilled hand to advance time forward. Certain complicated timepieces need to be re-set with professional care to avoid damage. By offering this expert service, Tourneau strives to assist watch owners not only with the time change, but also in keeping their watches looking sharp throughout the year with a luxury polishing cloth. The complimentary cloth is made of untreated microfiber, safely allowing watch owners to polish and clean their timepiece without risking damage from residue or chemicals. Historically, Benjamin Franklin first created the idea for Daylight Saving in 1784 in his essay "An Economical Project".  The idea was not fully adopted by the U.S. until 1966, wherein the time was dictated to "spring forward" one hour at 2:00 am each March.  Certain territories, including Hawaii, Arizona, and the Eastern Time Zone portion of Indiana, are the only areas in the U.S. that do not honor the time change.
