iNACOL Announces June 21 "Teacher Talk" Webinar: "Beyond LMS Boundaries: Web 2.0 Enriching Online Learning and Assessment"

VIENNA, Va., June 13, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The International Association for K-12 Online Learning (iNACOL) will host a webinar on Thursday, June 21 to pave the way for teachers looking to transition to or engage further in online learning, providing insights on web tools and resources available to support students' needs in face-to-face and online learning environments.

"Across the field, we've discovered many great teachers who are interested in implementing or enhancing online learning programs but aren't sure which web tools will best help their students learn and grow," said Susan Patrick, President and CEO of iNACOL. "Often times, teachers don't realize that many of the web tools for online learning are easily accessible, highly functional and peer-reviewed, further enabling them to provide high quality education to their students.  It is our hope that this webinar will enable teachers to gain the resources needed to better enable students to succeed."

The webinar will explore a wide range of web 2.0 tools that teachers are using to supplement online and classroom instruction, including open source content and collaborative and creative web tools and programs.  A discussion and demonstration of web tools from classics like VoiceThread and Glogster, to newer programs like MuseumBox and Tagul, will provide webinar participants with a list of resources and ideas to better integrate web tools into their face-to-face or online classrooms.

Panel speakers will include Michele Gill, Vice President of Education at Performance Learning Systems, and Barbara Moran, Director of the Center for Educational Research, Technology and Innovation (CERTI) and On-Line Development in Education at Wilkes University in Pennsylvania.
