incentaHEALTH Rewards Colorado Organizations for Positively Impacting the Health of their Community

DENVER, Sept. 27, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Technology-based health company incentaHEALTH has awarded six "Outstanding Partner in Health" awards to organizations positively impacting the health of their communities. One winner was appointed in each of six categories including top school district, municipality, workforce union, recreation center, clinic and hospital. Each organization is located in Colorado and facilitates the community weight management platform Weigh & Win by Kaiser Permanente™ (developed by incentaHEALTH). Weigh & Win pays its participants for sustained weight loss and is available at no cost to all Colorado residents.

The incentaHEALTH program is designed to help communities and organizations reduce health care costs and provide a solution for reversing the rise of the obesity crisis. incentaHEALTH's Colorado deployment recently reached a new milestone, enrolling 100,000 Coloradans and dispersing more than $700,000 in cash rewards to participants for weight loss.

Submission to the Outstanding Partner in Health award was open to all 125 Weigh & Win participating organizations. Each candidate completed a nomination form and was selected by a review committee.  The six winners were invited to film a video, produced by incentaHEALTH, to further effectiveness of the program throughout each community.

A study recently published in the Journal of General Internal Medicine found 71 percent of engaged participants in incentaHEALTH's weight management program to have reduced their BMI, with 34 percent of those participants achieving a 5 percent or greater weight loss. These results were sustained for an average duration of 1.7 years.
