Independent Research Firm Recognizes Verizon Business as a Leader for European WAN Services

READING, England, May 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Verizon Business announced Thursday (May 6) that Forrester Research Inc. has recognized Verizon Business as a leader in the European wide-area-network services market.

In its April 2010 report "The Forrester Wave™: European WAN Services, Q2 2010," the firm states that Verizon Business "leads the pack on current offering, overall strategy and market presence." Verizon Business gained the "top score" for fixed access options, and has "top-tier operations and management capabilities to support MNCs' European WAN requirements" and in particular the company has maintained its position as "the provider with the most comprehensive and easy-to-use e-portal."

The report also notes that Verizon Business has "extensive European fiber routes and MANs, offers aggressive SLAs and has a large and rapidly growing European customer base."

Using 58 criteria, Forrester evaluated the strengths and weaknesses of 12 European major service providers. The selected companies have European market stature, market momentum and commitment to MPLS as a foundation technology.
