Indiana Pacers Selects Cape to Assure Great Stadium Wi-Fi Experience

SAN FRANCISCO and INDIANAPOLIS, July 17, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Indiana Pacers has partnered with Cape to deliver a superior Wi-Fi experience to fans attending the Bankers Life Fieldhouse Arena. The arena is home to the Indiana Pacers, of the National Basketball Association, and the Indiana Fever, of the Women's National Basketball Association.

Cape's products help IT organizations and Managed Service Providers to monitor and improve their Wi-Fi network user experience.

"Reliable, high speed Wi-Fi is an essential part of the fan experience. But this is inherently challenging to provide because Wi-Fi performs differently when the stadium is full versus empty," says John Schwarten, Indiana Pacers' interim CTO. "Cape's sensors and dashboard show us in real time how fans are experiencing our network during events."

The Indiana Pacers will install Cape sensors throughout the Bankers Life Fieldhouse Arena, enabling them to monitor their fans' Wi-Fi experience in real-time, to detect, troubleshoot, and fix issues before fans complain.

"Cape has already helped us. We've been able to identify and troubleshoot issues with our Wi-Fi performance, and reduce time to resolve issues during events," adds Schwarten.

Before Cape, monitoring Wi-Fi user experience was laborious and unreliable. During events IT professionals would need to manually test Wi-Fi performance at a sample of locations in the arena. However that approach is costly and does not cover enough locations to catch all issues affecting end users.

"Cape alerts the IT team to issues as they happen in real-time, which eliminates the need for manual Wi-Fi experience sampling during live events. It's a win for the IT team and the fans," says Kevin Naylor, VP of IT at the Indiana Pacers.
