SAN JOSE, Calif., Jan. 23, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Varentec™, the first provider of intelligent Grid Edge Control™ solutions for electric utilities, today announced the appointment of David Konye as Vice President of Sales.  Konye will be responsible for all sales and customer management for both the utility and commercial sectors in North America.

"We are delighted to have Dave join our team with his proven track record of over 20 years helping the utility industry adopt 'new paradigm' solutions, that have gone onto become the standard."

"Varentec is defining a new operating paradigm to managing the grid, delivering real business and operational benefits today," said Dave Koyne.  "This is reminiscent of where the AMI industry was 20 years ago and I am delighted to join the Varentec team at this exciting inflection point in the industry."
