ATLANTA, April 21, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Irrimax Corporation names experienced medical device sales executive, Gene Ritter, as the company's first vice president of sales. Mr. Ritter will head the sales effort for Irrimax's flagship product IRRISEPT®. IRRISEPT is an FDA-cleared debridement and cleansing system containing 0.05% Chlorhexidine Gluconate (CHG) in water for irrigation.
"Having an experienced and well-respected industry expert spearhead our sales efforts is a major milestone for Irrimax and a significant endorsement of our technology and sales growth potential," says Chief Executive Officer Gareth Clarke. "Gene's knowledge of the healthcare sales process and his quick understanding of the importance of IRRISEPT makes him an ideal addition to our leadership team."
Ritter's primary responsibility is to develop a comprehensive sales strategy for the medical device company's flagship product, IRRISEPT. IRRISEPT is currently in use in more than 250 hospitals nationwide, and market penetration is expected to grow rapidly following completion of the company's current Phase IV, randomized clinical trial.
"I was compelled to join Irrimax after learning about the benefits of IRRISEPT and the company's commitment to evidence based practice, illustrated by their major clinical trial initiative," explains Ritter. "It's an important innovation that I believe can help address some of today's most critical healthcare issues: surgical site infections, healthcare-associated infections, re-admissions and the subsequent financial penalties."
Ritter has more than 20 years of experience in medical sales, including sales training, strategic account management, GPO negotiation and extensive sales management. Prior to joining Irrimax, he was VP, Sales – Surgical Solutions at Ecolab Healthcare, responsible for the combined Surgical and Temperature Management business. In this role, he was responsible for sales of more than $100 million and a 70 person sales team. Ritter's previous roles demonstrate a record of increasing responsibility within the Ecolab and Microtek medical sales organizations.
