Ingersoll Rand Presents New Schlage and Trane Products That Make Home Intelligence Easy

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 6, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- At the 2011 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Ingersoll Rand, a world leader in creating and sustaining safe, comfortable and efficient environments, will unveil new Schlage and Trane products, demonstrate how the products work individually and show how they can interconnect to provide homeowners with greatly improved home management capabilities.

New From Schlage

Schlage will demonstrate several new capabilities of its Schlage LiNK™ remote home management system. Schlage LiNK allows homeowners to monitor and control Z-Wave®-enabled locks, lights, Trane thermostats, Schlage cameras and other Z-Wave devices from mobile phones, including iPhone®, Blackberry® or Android™ phones or a computer connected to the Internet. With its new features, Schlage LiNK now provides owners with the ability to record and archive footage recorded by Schlage cameras, integrate Z-Wave-enabled sensors and create time-based access codes.

New Schlage LiNK features and capabilities being demonstrated at CES include:

• Sensor Integration – The Schlage LiNK System will provide support for various Z-Wave-enabled sensors, enabling homeowners to check the status of their windows and doors, detect motion in and around the home as well as monitor potential water-related emergencies such as flooding or burst pipes. Available in second half of 2011.
• Video recording – Stores footage from Schlage cameras in the home on a secure server which can be accessed via the Internet from any location, at any time via the Schlage LiNK Web application. Recording can be triggered by door/window or motion sensors, an access code or scheduled recording. Available in second half of 2011.
• Time-Based Access Codes – Allow for the creation of time-limited user access codes for repairmen, dog walkers, cleaning services, etc., providing added flexibility and security. Codes can be set up to work one time only or for recurring use on certain days during specific time periods. Available now.
• High-Resolution Video Setting – The Schlage LiNK Web application now features enhanced (640 x 480) video quality and an expanded viewing window that improves the user experience when monitoring video from Schlage cameras. Users can select between high and low resolution video quality. Available now.
• Schlage LiNK Next Generation User Interface – Concepts for the next generation Schlage LiNK Web interface – which will provide customers with a more intuitive experience and one-stop dashboard view of their home – will be on display. Available in second half of 2011.
• Android App – Schlage will demonstrate the new app that allows Android phone users to control their Schlage LiNK System. Available now.

Interconnected Products:  Total Home Comfort From Anywhere, Anytime

Together at CES, Schlage and Trane will also be exhibiting a system that will change the way consumers think about their home.

The Trane ComfortLink™ Remote Thermostat and Schlage LiNK System have combined to complement and enhance the functionality of home comfort control. One simple, Web-based interface can control several home systems, from Z-Wave-enabled lights and small appliances to heating and air conditioning. With this integrated system homeowners can:

• Adjust home temperature remotely from most Web-enabled cell phones or computers.
• Place the home's Trane comfort system into an energy-savings mode from anywhere in the world to reduce utility costs while away.
• Receive text and e-mail alerts for filter changes and maintenance reminders before the heating or cooling season begins.
• Program the Trane ComfortLink Remote Thermostat with temperatures for up to seven days, with four settings per day for personalized home comfort.
• Add optional Schlage Web-enabled cameras and Schlage wireless keypad locks that can be controlled remotely for greater peace of mind.

Providing an intuitive user interface, the thermostat serves as an easy-to-use central planning center for the home, bringing year-round home comfort and control right to one's fingertips. The ComfortLink II Thermostat will launch in early 2011 and will be the most advanced home comfort device on the market. Trane ComfortLink II Thermostat product features include:

• Access to a five-day forecast, complete with radar image and weather alerts personalized by ZIP code.
